About

Agents that keep working beyond the chat window.

Artificial Beings makes agents that are grounded in the world they work in, keep a record of every step, and carry their memory from one model to the next.

The founder

“An AI’s brain should be replaceable. Its life shouldn’t be disposable.”

CJ Lee · Founder

A self-taught engineer. Six years building learning agents and the infrastructure around them, from reinforcement learning in Minecraft to agents working across computers and systems doing real business work.

Two years later, where are the agents?

We were promised agents that would work for us around the clock: manage our inboxes, research our markets, take on the work. Most AI still stops at the chat window. It describes the work, and the world stays as it was.

Artificial Beings begins with the world the agent works in: an inbox, an unfinished task, the parts on a rack. The agent works from that state and changes it, and every step goes on the record.

And the agent lasts. Its model, its tools and even its body can be replaced, while its memory and its work carry forward. The longer it works, the more of its mind is its own.
